Generative AI is driving major changes in the legal field. The November 2022 public release of ChatGPT ushered in a new AI era that was described as a Promethean moment and a “tipping point for AI".
In response to this tidal wave of GenAI news and resources, we've complied a number of resources for the Berkeley Law community. This guide focuses on GenAI terminology, tools, resources, news, and other information relevant to both law school and legal practice. Below are links to other resources we're working on. Given the fast-paced evolution in this space, we will be updating these resources regularly.
Before diving into this guide, please make sure you have reviewed the Berkeley Law Generative AI Policy.
Here's a link to our original Generative AI Guide, which is still regularly updated. Going forward, this guide will focus on pedagogical implications of GenAI, targeting the interests of Berkeley Law faculty and staff. If you are interested in the teaching-related aspects of GenAI, take a look!
We’re collecting a broader group of resources in a GenAI Zotero group library. For for information on Zotero, see the Main Library's Zotero guide.
To access the attachments in the Zotero group library (the online library only includes metadata), please email kchamorro@berkeley.edu.
We're working on additional GenAI resources and workshops, so stay tuned!
