SelectedWorks - Author pages: Getting Started

Creating a SelectedWorks account can be done in several quick steps:

1. Visit http://www.works.bepress.com/ and click on the 'My Account' to create a new account
2. Click on the 'Sign up' button under the 'Create new account' section.
3. Complete the form using your @law.berkeley.edu email address
4. Verify the institution. Berkeley Law should be listed as the institution for Faculty in order to get Berkeley Law branding.

After these steps, your SelectedWorks account will be active and you will be able to start editing your SelectedWorks page.

Once your SelectedWorks account is activated, the customizing can begin.

Authors have the ability to add an introductory paragraph, categorize writings, collect bepress content, add a profile image, edit contact information, edit background information, upload a C.V., and edit associated links.

• Collecting bepress content allows an author to pull information from any existing full text document in a bepress repository. This saves time since the metadata is already completed. This will also provide the author with a single count for download statistics instead of spreading those counts across multiple copies of the same article.

When the author is signed in, the main page provides links for uploading content, editing the site, reviewing reports, managing mailing lists, and managing editors.
