Journals are receiving fewer and less professional submissions; it is imperative to do a substantive review prior to accepting an article for publication:
• Get pre-emption training for your article submissions team
• Review submissions thoroughly for original ideas and theses
• Avoid publication delays due to extensive editing and re-writing
• Ask authors to provide all of the sources at the time you extend an offer
• Online-only journals: consider publishing on an article-by-article basis!
